I work nights. When do I take the Wegovy pill?
The label says in the morning, on an empty stomach, and describes nothing else. For someone who sleeps by day, the closest reading is the moment you wake, after your longest fast, not the clock's morning. The manufacturer measured what a short fast does, and the drop is large.

The short answer
The label says in the morning, on an empty stomach, and describes nothing else. For someone who sleeps by day, the closest reading is the moment you wake, after your longest fast, not the clock's morning. The manufacturer measured what a short fast does, and the drop is large.
What the label says
From the labelTake WEGOVY tablets orally once-daily on an empty stomach in the morning with water (up to 4 ounces).
Morning, empty stomach. The label never says what time, and never defines the empty stomach in hours. It is written for people who sleep at night, and it says nothing about people who do not.
What "empty stomach" turned out to mean in the study
The manufacturer ran a trial in healthy volunteers comparing the usual overnight fast with shorter fasts of 2, 4 and 6 hours before the tablet. The shorter fasts gave 56 to 88 percent less exposure than the overnight one. In plain words: the tablet taken four hours after dinner delivered a fraction of the tablet taken on waking.
That study is the reason "morning" is in the label. It is not the hour that matters. It is the long fast that sleep provides.
What people actually do
The night shift question is one the forums cannot answer, and they say so: "is my stomach empty at 10 p.m.?" gets guesses, not answers. The people who have settled it describe one of two routines. The tablet on waking in the afternoon, after the day's sleep, with the water and the 30 minutes before the first meal of their day. Or a fixed clock time every day, chosen with their prescriber, and a longer gap before it on work days.
Both keep the one thing the study measured: the longest fast of the day comes before the tablet. Which one fits your week is a prescriber conversation, and the study's numbers are worth bringing to it.
Oolite lets the morning be whatever hour you wake: the reminder and the timer follow the time you set, and the day rolls over when you do.
Questions people ask
Is my stomach empty at 10 p.m. if I ate at 6?
The label does not define empty stomach by hours. The manufacturer compared an overnight fast with fasts of 2, 4 and 6 hours, and the shorter fasts gave 56 to 88 percent less exposure. Four hours after a meal is one of the short fasts in that study.
Can I take it at the end of my shift, before I sleep?
That is a meal-heavy time for most night workers, and a short fast. The label describes a dose after the longest fast, which for most people is on waking. Your prescriber can set a time that fits your rota.
What about days off, when I sleep at night?
The label's rule is the same on every day: on waking, empty stomach, water, 30 minutes. Only the clock time changes. Some people keep one fixed time across the week and accept a shorter fast on turnaround days; that is a prescriber conversation.
Does Foundayo have the same problem?
No. Foundayo can be taken at any time of day, with or without food, so shift work does not change its rule.
