Dose steps

The first week on Foundayo

The first strength is 0.8 mg, once a day, with or without food, for at least 30 days. The level settles within about a week, which is faster than any semaglutide tablet. The label reports nausea, vomiting and diarrhea as higher during the dosage escalation period, decreasing over time, and it counts a missed tablet as one to take when remembered, not to skip.

The short answer

The first strength is 0.8 mg, once a day, with or without food, for at least 30 days. The level settles within about a week, which is faster than any semaglutide tablet. The label reports nausea, vomiting and diarrhea as higher during the dosage escalation period, decreasing over time, and it counts a missed tablet as one to take when remembered, not to skip.

What the label says

Four sentences cover the first week.

From the label

The starting dosage is 0.8 mg orally once daily.

From the label

Take FOUNDAYO orally once daily, with or without food.

From the label

Steady state exposure is achieved after approximately 1 week of once daily administration.

From the label

The incidence of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea was higher during the FOUNDAYO dosage escalation period and decreased over time.

A tablet a day, any time, no morning rules. By the end of the week the level has settled at what 0.8 mg gives. The stomach is meeting the molecule, and the label reports stomach effects as higher during the escalation period.

What the first week is not

It is not the strength the label leaves you on. The escalation goes to 2.5 mg after at least 30 days, then 5.5, then, based on response and tolerability, up to 17.2 mg. Whatever the first week does or does not do, the label does not ask 0.8 mg to be the answer.

Two rules to know from day one

The missed dose rule is the opposite of the semaglutide pills: take it as soon as you remember, never double. And for anyone on an oral contraceptive, the label asks for a non-oral or barrier method for the first 30 days, and again for 30 days after each step up.

What people actually do

Starting is easier than on the Wegovy pill, and people say so: no alarm before dawn, no timer, a tablet with lunch. The questions of the first week are the stomach, mostly mild at 0.8 mg, and the impatience of a strength that the label does not present as the working one.

The habit worth building in week one is the fixed time. Not for absorption, which the label says food does not meaningfully change, but because with a fast half-life a missed day shows as a deep dip in the model.

Oolite's Foundayo setup is a reminder at the hour you choose, no timer, the label's missed dose sentence on the screen, and a day count on each strength.

Questions people ask

When will I feel it?

The label does not describe what a strength feels like. It says the level reaches steady state after about a week of daily tablets, and that 0.8 mg is the first of six strengths.

Is the first week the worst for the stomach?

The label says nausea, vomiting and diarrhea were higher during the escalation period and decreased over time. Each new strength starts that clock again.

I forgot one on day three. Do I skip it?

No. Foundayo's label says to take a missed dose as soon as possible and not to double the next one.

Do I need to change my birth control in the first week?

If you use an oral contraceptive, the label asks for a non-oral or barrier method for 30 days after starting and after each dose increase, so yes, from day one.
