The Wegovy pill stopped working at week 3?

Probably not. Week three is when the appetite most often comes back on a step, and it is also the week the level is still climbing: the label puts the plateau of a strength at four to five weeks of daily tablets, and each step lasts 30 days. The label does not promise any effect at the lower strengths at all.

The short answer

Probably not. Week three is when the appetite most often comes back on a step, and it is also the week the level is still climbing: the label puts the plateau of a strength at four to five weeks of daily tablets, and each step lasts 30 days. The label does not promise any effect at the lower strengths at all.

What the label says

The label does not describe what a step should feel like. It describes what a step is for.

From the label

Initiate WEGOVY tablet with a dosage of 1.5 mg once daily for 30 days. Then follow the dosage escalation schedule, titrating every 30 days to achieve the maintenance dosage.

And, in the same section, the reason for the staircase: to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal adverse reactions. The label names 25 mg as the maintenance dose and makes no claim for the steps below it.

The number that explains week three

Semaglutide has a one week half-life, and the Rybelsus label, same tablet formulation, says steady state is reached after four to five weeks of daily tablets. Week three of a step is therefore not the top of anything: the level is still rising, and the next step begins just as this one settles.

The label adds one more thing worth knowing: the tablet's absorption varies a lot, between people and between mornings. A quiet week is inside that variation.

What people actually do

"It stopped working" is the central doubt on the forums, roughly one post in twenty. The pattern people describe is remarkably consistent: strong effect in the first days of a step, a return of appetite around day 21 to 28, then the next step and a couple of weeks before it kicks in again. Many discover on the forums, not from their prescriber, that 1.5, 4 and 9 are steps and 25 is the dose, and that most people see little before three months.

The other side of the thread is people who lost a lot on 1.5 mg and never moved up, which is where the label's sentence about variability earns its place.

Oolite draws the level of the current step so that week three looks like what it is, a curve still climbing, and keeps the day count so that the next step arrives when the label says.

Questions people ask

I lost my appetite in week one and it came back in week three. Why?

The label does not describe the appetite week by week. What it does say is that a strength reaches its plateau after four to five weeks, so week three is still on the way up, and that the escalation exists for the stomach, not for effect. The forums describe exactly your pattern on almost every step.

Should I move up early?

The label counts 30 days per step and moves up on that count, not on how the appetite feels. Moving early is a prescriber decision, and the label's only reason for changing the pace is tolerability, in the other direction.

Is it a bad batch?

Nothing in the label supports the idea. What it does say is that absorption of the tablet varies a lot between people and between mornings, which makes a quiet week possible without anything being wrong with the tablet.

Does 1.5 mg do anything?

The label does not claim it does. It calls 25 mg the maintenance dose and describes the lower steps as the way to reach it with fewer stomach effects.
