How long does the Wegovy pill stay in your system?
About a week to lose half of it, and five to seven weeks to be gone. The label gives semaglutide an elimination half-life of approximately one week, which is also why the level takes four to five weeks of daily tablets to settle.

The short answer
About a week to lose half of it, and five to seven weeks to be gone. The label gives semaglutide an elimination half-life of approximately one week, which is also why the level takes four to five weeks of daily tablets to settle.
What the label says
The prescribing information gives one number for how fast semaglutide leaves the body, and it is the same for the tablet and the injection.
From the labelWith an elimination half-life of approximately 1 week, semaglutide will be present in the circulation for about 5 to 7 weeks after the last injectable dose of 2.4 mg or 7.2 mg or oral dose of 25 mg.
A half-life of one week means that whatever is in the body today, about half of it is still there a week later, a quarter after two weeks, and so on. Five to seven weeks later, what remains is small enough that the label counts it as gone.
Why the level takes weeks to build
The same slowness works the other way. A tablet taken this morning is still mostly there tomorrow morning, when the next one arrives. Day after day the doses stack, until the amount added each morning equals the amount the body clears in a day. The Rybelsus label, which describes the same tablet formulation, puts that point at four to five weeks.
From the labelSteady-state exposure was achieved following 4 to 5 weeks of semaglutide tablets oral administration.
The label's dose steps last 30 days each, so in the model a step is at about 95 percent of its level when the next one begins.
What the numbers look like drawn
Oolite draws this as a curve, in percent of the level of the current step, never in milligrams. In a model built on the label's one week half-life, the level reaches about 90 percent of its plateau on day 24 and about 97 percent at five weeks. One missed morning costs about 9 percent, and the gap then halves each week as the mornings resume.
The curve is a model from the label's numbers, not a blood test. The label itself says that the 25 mg tablet gives concentrations comparable to the 2.4 mg weekly injection, but with higher variability from one person to the next, which is why a percent is the honest unit and a milligram would not be.
You can draw it yourself, missed mornings included, on the pill level chart.
What people actually do
The one week half-life is the best known number on the forums. It is the reason people say that skipping one day does nothing, and the reason others warn that a weekend off does not reset anything either. Both are readings of the same fact: the level moves slowly, in both directions.
Where it gets used badly is the pause before an event: some people stop several days ahead of a wedding or a holiday and are surprised that the tablet is still very much at work. Five to seven weeks is the label's number for that.
Questions people ask
If I stop the pill today, when is it out of my body?
The label says semaglutide is still present about five to seven weeks after the last 25 mg tablet. It fades by about half each week, so most of it is gone after a month and a trace remains a little longer.
Why does it take weeks to build up if I take it every day?
Because each tablet adds to what the previous ones left. With a one week half-life, the daily doses stack until what is added each morning equals what is lost each day. The Rybelsus label, same tablet formulation, puts that point at four to five weeks.
Does the half-life change with the dose step?
No. The half-life is a property of the molecule, not of the strength. Each new step starts a new four to five week climb to its own level.
Is it the same for the injection?
Yes. The label gives the same approximately one week half-life for the injection and the tablet, and the same five to seven weeks after the last dose.
